Knocking Out Goals

Goal setting is something that enables a person to achieve his/her dreams. It is usually a mental or physical list of what an individual intends to achieve. We all have aspirations though most of us don't know how to draw a roadmap to achieving our goals. To attain our goals, we need to be focused. It's not enough to just daydream and hope the world will align with your wishes. You must set out with a plan but also know that you'll have to put in a lot of work before your efforts start bearing fruit. Below are habits to embody as you look to set and achieve your goals. 1) Set smart, attainable Goals: We have a lot of desires and goals but they all can't be achieved at the same time. Some of your goals have to be prioritized before you can get to other goals that are on your list. For instance, if you are looking to buy your own car but don't have a drivers license. Becoming a Doctor may be a dream of yours but you first need to enroll back in school.

Knowing this, set goals in stages and do not overburden yourself. This is because if you set too many goals, you may not be able to achieve them all at once, and might feel like you have failed. So, set smart, few and attainable goals. 2) Stay true: Staying true to yourself and to your goals is very key. Nothing gets done or done properly if you are trying to imitate others. Be you. Put in the hours and keep motivating yourself. This also involves knowing yourself enough to recognize your strengths and your weaknesses.

3) Become one with your goals: Dwell within goals. Make them an integral part of your life. Let everything you do be deliberate and geared towards the achievement of your goals. Do not cut yourself any slack. Instead, keep pushing and reminding yourself how important it is that you achieve the things that are important to you. Doing this will help you prioritize and stay focused on your dreams.

4) Never let your circumstances control you:

Please understand... Nothing goes according to plan. Life is going to happen and if a person doesn't take precautions goals can slowly take to the back-burner. You have to be mentally and physically ready for when plans don't go accordingly. You know that saying "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade lemonade" or this!

What ever the drawback life is trying to hand you, always hold it down in the forefront of your mind the decision that you must not lose focus of your goals.

5) Be ready to pay the price for success:

Nothing goes for nothing. There is a price to be paid for our wants, goals, and desires. There is no such thing as a free lunch; someone somewhere is paying for it. In the course of trying to achieve your goals, do not hesitate at the price you have to pay. Some people willingly pay $20 dollars for a meal but are reluctant to buy a shirt for the same price. Be ready to make those sacrifices which will be demanded of you.

Please don't sacrifice your integrity in this process. Things such as your principles must not be compromised.

6) Ask for feedback:

Advice, praises, and criticisms help you to grow and also recognize where the corrections are needed to be greater. Feedback will help you take note of your blind spots and fix them. It is good to ask for feedback your mentor, friends, or family.

Make it happen! Success doesn't come by chance. Make your own luck. Luck is nothing but when preparation meets opportunity. Seize the day. Take control and responsibility and above all, do not despair for your Goals will find you there!
